THE ELEMENT in the first half of the transition series exihibit many oxidation state ex-mn(+2 to +7)stability of +2 oxidation state increases with increase in atomic number however sc does not show +@ oxidation state.it forms stable +3 oxidation state asby losing electron it attains noble gas configuration and v+5 are very stable for the same reason mn+2 is very stable due to attainment of half filled orbital
