The reaction of toluene with cl2 in the presence of fecl3 gives predominantly - ortho-chlorotoluene and para-chlorotoluene.

this is an example of fridel craft acylation and the major product of this reaction is o ans p chlorotoluene.

The methyl group is ortho and para directing group. So in its presence the Chlorine gets attached to ortho or para position and so a mixture of ortho and para chloro toluene is formed.
