As the formula of phosphate is PO4 , and valency of phosphorus in 3 so its M3. In sulphur the valency is 2 , hence M has M2
Let us assume that the metal is iron . Its symbol is Fe – so the sulphate formula would be Fe2so4 . because the formula of sulphate is (So4 ).
