The hydronium concentration of 0.2 molar solution of formic acid is 6.4 into 10 raise to power minus 3. To this solution sodium formate is added so as to adjust concentration of sodium formate to one mole per litre what will be the pH of this solution? given K A for the formic acid is 2.4 into 10 raise to power minus 4 and degree of dissociation of sodium formate is 0.75.

Dear student

sodium formate is added and the dissociation will further be suppressed and therefore, new degree of dissociation (α1) for HCOOH in presence of HCOONa is so small that it may be neglected.
