Dear students,
Each M²⁺ ion is in cubic coordination with eight X⁻ neighbors.
So the coordination no of each M²⁺ ionis 8.
Whereas each X⁻ ion is tetrahedrally surrounded by four M²⁺ ions.
Hence, the coordination no of each X⁻ion is 4.
