Given Data
C(graphite) + O2(g) \rightarrow CO2(g)    \DeltaH = -395.0KJ            – (1)
H2(g) + O2(g) \rightarrow H2O(g)    \DeltaH = -269.4KJ                    – (2)
6C(graphite) + 6H2(g) +3O2(g) \rightarrow CO2(g)    \DeltaH = -1169.8KJ       – (3)
Combustion of glucose is given by
C6H12O6(s) + 6O2(g) \rightarrow 6CO2(g) + 6H2O    \DeltarH
above equation can be obtained by manipulating equation (1),(2) and (3) as
6*(1) + 6*(2) – (3)
So \DeltarH  = 6*(-395.0KJ) + 6*(-269.4KJ) – (-1169.8KJ ) = -2816.6KJ.
