Starch is a food reserve in plants just like glycogen in animals..It the main storage polysacccharide of plants which is polymer of alpha-glucose and consist of two components-
1. Amylose-It is the linear polmer of alpha-glucose and water soluble fraction.
2.Amylopectin-It consist of branched chains of alpha-glucose and insoluble fraction.
