NaCl shows Schottky defects and AgCl Frenkel defects. Their electrical conductivity is due to - (a) Motion of ions and not the motion of electrons (b) Motion of electrons and not the motion of ions (c) Lower coordination number of NaCl (d) Higher coordination number of AgCl

This due to motion of ions. This is because if an ion moves from its lattice sites to occupy a `hole`, it creates a new `hole`. In this way a hole moves across the crystal which as a result moves the charge in opposite direction. Hence (a) is the correct answer.
