Alcohols with less number of carbon chain are dissolved in water like methanol, ethanol, propanol because of Hydrogen bond between water and OH group of alcohol. But as the carbon chain increase solubility decrease because of the increase in hydrophobic part(i.e.carbon chain). Acetone is also soluble in water due to formation of Hydrogen bond between carbonyl group of acetone and water.

As you have not given the name of compound.But if the compounds are acetone and alcohol, then both the compound are soluble in water.
