Lithium shows similarities with magnesium because of Diagonal Relationship.Some of the similarities are-
1.Reacts with N2 to form a nitride in the same way as magnesium does.
6Li + N2 -----------> 2Li3N
2.Lithium hyroxide,carbonate and fluoride are much less soluble and the solubilities are comparable to those of the corresponding magnesium compounds.
