In surface chemistry as both adsorbtion and apsorption cab occur simulatneously.but my questionis that cause of adsorption is residual forces but chalk adsorb ink but absorb solvent of ink why?as residual forces are still there then why it adsorb solvent?

When chalk comes in contact with ink, the pigments which give color to ink gets adsorbed on surface but the solvent which carry the pigments gets absorbed by chalk.
adsoprtion is iindependent of absorption because adsorption is a surface phenomena whereas aborption is a bulk phenomena. They do interfere with each other.
