For any subshell with azimuthal no. l
There are 2l+ 1 orbitals...
Each orbital has 2 electrons each with positive
spin and negative spin.
Hence, for same spin quantum no. There is one electron each in one orbital..

Hence, maximum electrons = 2l + 1
