In a particular reaction, the time required to complete half of the reaction was found to increase 9 times when the initial concentration of the reaction was reduced to one third. What is the order of the reaction.

t (1/2)={2^n-1 – 1}/(a^n-1)(k)(n-1).......[eq1]
9t (1/2)=2^n-1 – 1/{(a/3)^n-1}(k)(n-1)
9t (1/2)={{2^n-1 – 1} (3^n-1)}/(a^n-1)(k)(n-1).......[eq2]
dividing eq 1 and eq 2, we get
1/9=1/a^n-1
=> 9=3^n-1
=> 3^2=3^n-1
=>2=n-1=>  n=3
