If latent heat of fusion of pure water is 1440 cal/mol, then what will be the molal depression constant of water?

Kf = MRTo^2 / (1000 X delta Hf)

where M = molar mass of solvent = 18 g/mole
R = 2 cal /deg/mole
delta Hf = 1440 cal/mole
To = freezing point of liquid = 0 degree C = 273 K

so Kf = 18 X 2 X 273^2 / (1000 X 1440) = 1.87
