The NH4Cl has a simple cubic lattice structure similar to CsCl structure. The NH+ ion is located at 0,0,0,0 and one Cl– ion at ½, ½, ½ separated by one-half of the body diagonal of the unit cube. We can see one molecule per unit cell with each ion at the centre of a cube of ions. Thus, the co-ordination number is 8.
