it is prepared by combing sodium sulfate and aluminium sulfate.
Na2SO4 +AL2(SO4)3------Na2SO4Al2(SO4)3.24H20

Dear student,
We can get alum from alunite. It is first calcinated & then exposed to the action of air for a substantial time. In the course of this exposure it is kept continually dampened with water, so that it ultimately turns into to a fine powder. This powder is then mixed with hot water & sulfuric acid, the liquor formed as a rfesult is decanted, & finally the alum is allowed to crystallize.
