How much water is to be added to dilute 100 mlof 10 N HCl to make it decinormal

Normality(N)=Molarity(M)×Valency(Z)

=Given wt.×Valency Factor/Molar wt.×Vol.

=Gram equivalent wt./Volume (in L)

Thus, N is inversely proportional to V(in L)

To decrease N by 10`-2 (from 10 to 0.1), V is incresed by 10`2 (from0.01L to 1L)

Therefore, 0.99L or 990mL of water is to be added
