KNO3 is an extremely soluble compound - solubility at 100°C = 245g / 100g water. This is a saturated solution at 100°C .

If you want to dissolve 100g KNO3 ,

you will require:

Mass of water = 100g KNO3 / 245gKNO3* 100g H2O = 41g H2O required.
