in transition metal the oxidation state can vary from 1 to the highest oxidation state by removing all its valence electron.also in the transition state the oxidation state differ by 1
ex-Fe+2 and Fe+3.in non transition element the oxidation state differ by 2.for ex-+2 and+4,+3 and+5
