how does a buffer solution work?explain with examples. how does blood buffer?

Buffer soln. is the mixture of the weak base and conjugate acid or it is the soln. which maintains the acidity or pH of the soln. on still adding of a small amount of acids or base into the soln., to eventually maintain the pH.
Human blood is the ultimate example of this Buffer Solution.
We take O2 and that is converted to CO2 which gets mixed with the Blood while respiration but still the pH os the Blood is maintained at 7.34 approx. by adjsting the acidity or basciity by the external component surroundings.
