Hi Sir,
In the reaction Standard hydrogen electrode was the anode hence oxidation took place. But while using the nernst equation why they used the reduction equation.

standard hydrogen electrode is the primary reference electrode that means it can be used both as anode and cathode. with any electrode system with reduction potential higher than that of hydrogen (i.e. 0 v as we take it to be), the electrode system is taken as cathode and hydrogen as anode and if the electrode system in questions has higher oxidation potential than that of hydrogen (i.e. 0 v again), hydrogen electrode system is taken as cathode.
