Graphite is a good conductor of electricity, Why?

The structure of the graphite is the reason for its conductiivity. The valency of carbon atom is four and each carbon atom in graphite is linked to three carbon atom only. therefore out of four electrons three are used for covalent binding and fourth one is free and can move from one carbon to another.Therefore on conduction of electricity these electrones move making the garphite a good conductor of electricity.
