Contact process is used in the manufacture of sulphuric acid at high conc. for industrial use .. 
The reactions involved in contact process are :- 
  1.  S(s) + O2(g) → SO2(g)
  2. 2SO2(g) + O2(g) → 2SO2(g)  ( in presence of V2O5 as catalyst )
  3. SO3(g)  + H2O  → H2SO4
