(1)They show paramagnetic behaviour dto the presence of large number of unpaired electron.
(2)Transition elements have high effective nuclear charge and a large number of valence electrons. Therefore, they form very strong metallic bonds. As a result, the enthalpy of atomization of transition metals is high.
(3)The transition metal generally formed coloured compounds because on providing energy they d-d transition takes place in the visible region of the spectrum
(4)they provide a suitable surface for the reaction to occur
