Dear student, Novolac :linear stucture formed as a product of condensation reaction between phenol and formaldehyde with excess of phenol. :It is used in paints Bakelite: :Novolac on further heating with formaldehyde undergoes cross linking to form an infusible solid mass called bakelite. :It is used for making combs ,phonograph records ,switches etc
