Coagulation:- The phenomenon of change of colloidal state to suspended state is known as coagulation of colloidal solution. It is also known as flocculation. For ex- lyophobic colloids are stable due to electrical charge present on colloidal particles. But when a suitable electrolyte is added, charge get neutralised or reduced to a certailn critical value.Due to this, repulsions between colloidal particles decrease and sol gets coagulated or flocculated.
Peptization:- Peptization is a process in which dispersion media break up certain substances into colloidal state. For ex- certain freshly formed precipitates of silver chloride, aluminium hydroxide can be converted into colloidal solution by the addition of small amount of suitable electrolyte having one common-ion.

  1. Coagulation is a complex process by which the blood forms clots to block and then heal a lesion/wound/cut and stop the bleeding. It is a crucial part of hemostasis - stopping blood loss from damaged blood vessels.
Peptization is the process responsible for the formation of stable dispersion of colloidal particles in dispersion medium. In other words it may be defined as a process of converting a precipitate into colloidal sol by shaking it with dispersion medium in the presence of small amount of electrolyte.
