1) Antiseptics- These are chemical agents that slow or stop the growth of micro-organisms (germs) on external surfaces of the body and help prevent infections.
for example- Alcohols, Dofanium chloride, Domiphen bromide used in Skin disinfectant, Irrigations, Eye drop preservative.
2) Antioxidants- These are man-made or natural substances that may prevent or delay some types of cell damage. Antioxidants are found in many foods, including fruits and vegetables. They are also available as dietary supplements. Examples of antioxidants include--> Beta-carotene, Lutein, Lycopene, Selenium, Vitamin A
Vitamin C, Vitamin E.
3) Narcotic Analgesics- Narcotic analgesics are drugs that relieve pain, can cause numbness and induce a state of unconsciousness. Morphine and its analogues, and some synthetic derivatives are classed as narcotics analgesics. Narcotic analgesics are used to relieve acute and chronic, severe pain. Some narcotics are more potent than others. They also have the tendency to cause tolerance and dependence.
