Based on the charge we can classify the colloids into two catergories:
a) Positive sols: In this colloidal particles carry positive charge. For ex: metal hydroxides, basic dyes etc
b) Negative sols: In this colloidal particles carry negative charge. For ex: Metal sol, blood etc
