Yes Calomel electrode can act as anode,and it can also act as cathode depending on the nature of the other electrode of the cell.It consist of mercury,mercurous chloride and KCl solution.Mercury is placed at the bottom of the glass tube having a side tube on each side,and is covered by a paste of mercurous chloride(calomel) with mercury and KCl solution.A solution of KCl is introduced above the paste through the side of tube.A platinum wire sealed into a glass tube and is dipped into mercury and used to provide the external electrical contact.
When calomel electrode act as anode the electrode reaction can be given as-
2Hg + 2Cl- -----------------> Hg2Cl2 + 2e-
