vapour pressure of solution=vapour pressure of pure liquid – osmotic pressure….(1)
now osmotic pressure, P=CRT
where, C=concentration, R= universal gas constant, T= temperature(K)
now 10% urea=10 g urea in 100ml of solution
so molarity of urea=mol of urea/Volume in Litre
=(10g/M)/0.1
(100ml =0.1 litre, M=molecular weight of urea)
now calculate molaritty of solution and then calculate osmotic pressure.
Now convert osmotic pressure in mm of Hg
760 mm=1 atm=10^5 Pa
and then use the equation(1) given to get result.
