Hund’s rule says the pairing of electron does not takes place till every orbital and sub orbital is singly occupied. So if that is not followed then fill 2 electrons in orbitals and check whether there remains any singly occupied orbital.

if there exist an unpaired e, then we will say that it is paramagnetic, and if its in pair then we will say its diamagnetic.
