there are seven possible spatial orientations for an f-type orbital, and hence seven possible orbitals in one f-type sub-shell.

 Dear student,

Any orbital can accomodate only 2 electrons with opposite spin .
If it asks you no. of electrons in f – subshell , then we will say it can accomodate 14 e-s  ( because f-subshell has 7 orbitals and each orbital can accomodate two electrons).

As any nf_orbital can accommodate up to two electrons with opposite spin . So the answer will be option D.
