A sample of argon gas is at a pressure of 1atm. When the volume is 100ml and the temperature is 35 degree celsius what must be its temperature if the pressure becomes 720 mm of Hg and its volume becomes 200 ml.

Charles' Law: This law states that volume is directly proportional to the temperature of the gas at constant pressure and number of moles.

(At constant pressure and number of moles)

where,

= initial volume of gas  = 100 ml

= final volume of gas  = 200 ml

= initial temperature of gas  =

 = final temperature of gas  = ?

Therefore, the the sample will have a volume of 200 ml at 186.5 Kelvin.
