V.D.=m/230*2=m=60(wt of hydrocarbon)It contains 80% carbonI.e., 80*60/100=48g carbonAnd remaining hydrogen is 60-48=12g hydrogenNow for em.formulaFind out moles of C and H using W/M= no.of moles48/12:12/11:4CH4

In CH4 the percentage of carbon is 75 and that of hydrogen is 25.
