A closed vertical cylinder is divided into two parts by a frictionless piston, each part contains 1 mole of air. At 27°C The volume of the upper part is 4 times than that of the lower part. Calculate the temperature when volume of the upper part will be 3 times than that of the lower part .

Using gas law

   PV=nRT;

   P1V1/RT1=P2V2/RT2;

Given T1=T2 and V1=4*V2;

So P1=P2/4;

New condition is V1=3*V2;

So the temperature will be 100K.Since it is an isobaric process the ratio of volume and temperature will remain constant.
