C₂O₄^2-                     ---> 2CO₂  + 2e^{-                           (a)}

Mno₄^- + 8H⁺  + 5e^-    ---> Mn²⁺  + 4H₂O                 (b)

multiply 5 times A and 2 times B gives

5 C₂O₄^2-    +  2 Mno₄^-     + 16 H⁺             ---> 10 CO₂  + 2 Mn²⁺  + 8 H₂O
