If the metallic bond of a metal is very strong/high, the force of attraction of molecules is higher which gives the metal strength. Also, if the metallic bond is high, ie. the force of attraction between molecules is more, light falling on the metal will not get any space to enter in between the molecules. Therefore, the light is reflected back. This reflected light when enters our eyes, makes the metal to appear shining.
