The volume for real gas is V-nb. Since we are subtracting the volume occupied by the molecules(nb) from the volume of the container(V),we are finding out the volume of free space available.But,we have to find out the volume occupied by the molecules which is nb. Then why is the volume of the gas V-nb?

the actual volume of the real gas can be obtained by excluding the volume occupied by the molecules..
