How do i calculate the no. of lone pairs in ICl2 (iodine di chloride)?? can anyone plz expalin it only by using hybridisation and not with VSEPRT

here we have ,the number of electron in iodine as 7.two chlorine atoms are there,it will use the two electron of iodine to make a covalent bond.the nuber of electrons left is 5.therfore the number of lone pair is 2.
actuslly the ion is ICL2-.In this case the number of lone pair is 3
