Hello Student
Na is the mist reactive metal. It reacts with water vigorously to generate hydrogen gas which catches fire and thus the reaction of Na with water is explosive.
It is so reactive that it can catch fire by reacting with the moisture present in air also and thus it is kep in oil and ot left open.
