As we know that colloidal solutions are stable and thus the colloidal particles do not sattle down under the influence of gravity.
This is mainly due to a property of caloid which is known as brownian movment.
The particles of colloid are under continous randum motion. Because of this motion a counter force is generated for for the gravity and it prevents them from settling
