How permittivity of free space is realted to coulomb force?? Is it is inversely proportional to the force??

force between the charges is given by :

F = kq1q2/r2

where k = 1/4πε and its value is 9 * 109

 and ????ε is the permittivity of free space and it is constant.

please approve the answer.

hi Ranjta,

 

More permittivity means the medium allows more lines of forces to pass through it, means more force on the particle

and

less permittivity means the medium allows less lines of forces to pass through it, means less force on the particel

 

this implies that, permittivity is directly proportional to the force....

but in the formula we use 1/epsilon where epsilon is "epsilon not/k"...... so, we get k in the numerator...

i.e., F is prop to K, the permittivity of the medium.....

 

permittivity of free space is fixed....

permittivity of a medium doe not depend on the Couloumbs force..... Couloumbs force only depends on the permittivity of the medium in which the charges are present....
