what is the relation between kc and ka

Dear Shivaram,

For a reaction of acid with water(aqueous solution)

HA + H2O = H30+ + A-

Kc = [A-][H30+]/[HA][H2O]

since water is a solvent, its concentration is constant

taking  [H2O] on the other side it becomes,

Kc*[H20] = [A-][H3O+]/[HA]

Kc*[H2O] is only Ka
