Dear sir, Can you please tell me that why the values of spin quantum number is +1/2 and -1/2 and not anything else like +1 and -1 ? Thanks.

This is because, we represent a orbital with number 1. In each orbital there are two electrons revolving with opposite direction. So, we use +1/2 and -1/2 to represent the two constituent parts of an orbital.
