Hi Shivam,

(CH3)3N has sp3 hybridization on nitrogen with pyramidal shape due to p∏-p∏ bonding...whereas in (SiH3)3N Si has vacant d orbitals which provides p∏-d∏ bonding and so nitrogen has sp2 hybridization with trigonal planar shape..!

here the reason is Ppi - dpi back bonding due to this it becomes planer but in (NCH3)3 there

is no such bonding possible...

Dear student,
Please find the answer to your problem attached herewith.

N(CH3)3 has sp3 hybridization on nitrogen with pyramidal shape due to pπ-pπ bonding...whereas in N(SiH3)3 Si has vacant d orbitals which provides pπ-dπ bonding and so nitrogen has sp2 hybridization with trigonal planar shape.

Hope it helps
Thanks and regards,
