Dear student,

SF2 forms a bent compound. There are a total of 20 valence electrons: 6 by sulfur, 7 from fluorine, and 7 from the other fluorine = 20 total. Eight are placed around the sulfur. Six are placed around each fluorine. a fluorine is placed on two sides of the sulfur. The two unshared electron pairs take up more space than the shared pairs and so the shared pairs move closer together approximately 105 degrees apart. AX2E2 = bent just like water.

IT IS BENT DUE TO LONE PAIR -LONE PAIR REPULSIONS

since itz of type AB2L2 , ITZ Shape is bent,. but fluorine compounds stand for exception. here as F-F repulsion is quite high(lp-lp), making sp ,,, linear shape. from bent. This is what I was explained.
