Helium atom is two times heavier than a hydrogen molecule. At 298 K,the average kinetic energy of helium atom is______energy of hydrogen molecule?IT is given that for kinetic energy is independant of mass. But KE=1/2mv^2 so it does depend on mass doesnt it?

kinetic energy of gas molecules =fkT/2 ,
it depends on temperature and degree of freedom of gas...
for hydrogen(di atomic) f=5 & for helium(monoatomic) f=3
so kinetic energy is independent of mass
