If the conversion follows second order then in the Reaction Reactant must be associated with 2 steochimetric coefficient that is 2X -----------> Y
Henc ethe rate of rn. is =>  dx/dt = -[X]/2 
Now if X is increase 3 times that is, dy/dt = -3[X]/2
The rate of reacn would become => dy/dt = 3dx/dt
It would be three times too.
