why doesnt CH3Cl give a white precipitate of AgCl on adding Ag NO3?

Iodoform consists of a weak C-I bond and thus easily hydrolyses to give enough Iˉ ion to react with AgNO₃. Chlorofom has a stronger bond with the halogen (Cl) and thus does not easily hydrolyse to provide for Clˉ ions.
