When chlorine is treated with slake lime it forms bleaching agent calcium hypochlorite.

When dry or slaked lime reacts with chlorine gas then it forms mostly calcium hypochlorite, calcium chloride with water . When dry slaked lime react with chlorine it forms bleaching powder.
